My specialty: Occupational Medicine
All Kaiser Permanente Physicians and Surgeons
My gender: Female
Accepting new patients. Provider not available for clinic appointments.
I am originally from New York City and was exposed to patient care working for my dentist father in the summers after school. I understood from an early age that I wanted to have the honor of patients sharing the details of their lives with me and have the skills to contribute to their well-being. I was also exposed to excellent science training at Barnard College and then Columbia University in graduate school. I have two sons. One works as a journalist. The other is in college majoring in neurobiology. He is pre-med (today anyway!)
I serve several roles for Kaiser Permanente Northwest. I have practiced clinical occupational medicine for 23 years. I am comfortable with the full range of work related conditions including musculoskeletal, respiratory, skin and other conditions. I have a special interest in chemical exposure. I really enjoy listening and understanding how all aspects of a patient's life can contribute to their recovery. I also conduct medical research in quality improvement and serve as the clinical director for population care. In this later role I provide medical support and leadership for many of our Kaiser Permanente preventive and care management programs.
I want to be energetic, calm, centered and balanced in my life every day. This allows me to be there completely for you as a patient, a friend or a co-worker. I mainly strive for this through regular daily vigorous activity. I swim, bike, hike, and run. I would like to train for a triathlon this year. I also paint in watercolor and pastel and have a long bucket list of exotic travel still to do.
