World-class preventive care

What’s the best way to fight a serious illness? Stop it from happening in the first place. At Kaiser Permanente, prevention is built into every step.

360-degree prevention

It’s not your job to keep track of what kind of preventive care you need. It’s ours. Your electronic health record triggers reminders for screenings. Your Kaiser Permanente care team can see a complete picture of your health at every visit. So we’re on top of what you need and can guide you to the right support. Getting care feels easier, moves faster, and everything gets documented along the way.

A connected care team

Everyone on your Kaiser Permanente care team can talk to each other — and consult quickly and seamlessly. So there’s no worrying about where to go next or how to get your health records into the right hands. We coordinate it all for you.

Multidisciplinary specialty care

When skill, experience, and passion matter most, we bring our teams together to help turn your health around.

We have tens of thousands of doctors and specialists working together in one connected system. This enables our teams to think and work as one — to deliver better care and achieve healthier outcomes.

From the minute you receive a diagnosis, your primary care physician and specialists are creating your treatment plan. Each clinician brings their unique perspective and expertise, and they coordinate across locations and specialties to deliver seamless, personalized, and effective care.

Better prevention, better treatment, better outcomes

20% percent less likely to experience premature death due to cancer

Innovation that puts better health within everyone’s reach

We'll never stop searching for new and better ways to support your total health — and sharing our discoveries with the world.

We’re exploring how to screen for cancer most effectively and consistently across different settings, so all communities can receive the greatest benefit. Funded by the National Cancer Institute, this project brings multiple health systems together to address the preventive care disparities that contribute to poorer cancer outcomes among certain populations. Together, we’ll figure out how all people can get effective, consistent cancer screenings, regardless of who they are, where they live, or their income level.

We use inherited risk calculators to identify members who are more likely to develop certain cancers. Then we create individualized plans for genetic counseling and/or testing and provide ongoing support to help prevent these conditions altogether — or help catch them before they become life-threatening.

Many of the most effective, cutting-edge treatments in medicine are the results of clinical trials. Kaiser Permanente members have a unique advantage — our electronic health record system maps their treatment histories with current, relevant clinical trials designed to tackle serious illnesses.

At Kaiser Permanente, we are always looking for new and improved ways to support your health and recovery from illness. With Advanced Care at Home, eligible members can choose to receive high quality, advanced care in their homes for certain conditions – including those that would traditionally result in a hospital or other health care setting.
