Help with messages

To protect your privacy and the confidentiality of your or your family members' personal health information, Kaiser Permanente provides you with a personal message center on our website. The message center lets you both send and receive secure messages.

You will need to sign on to your message center with your user ID and password before you can go to your mailbox and view your messages.

You'll receive a message in your regular email letting you know that you have a message in your Kaiser Permanente message center inbox.

Any member of a doctor's office may read and respond to your question. In some cases, your question may be prescreened to ensure that it is routed to the appropriate place. For details, please see our privacy practices.

Please keep in mind that all messages you send and receive will become part of your or your family members' medical records.

If you have sent an email for someone else, both of you will receive a notification in your regular email accounts when there is a reply to the question. However, to protect private health information, the actual response will be sent only to the other person's Kaiser Permanente mailbox. To access the other member's Kaiser Permanente mailbox:

  1. Sign on with your user ID and password.

  2. Select the other person's name from the "You are viewing information for:" box.

  3. Go to the message center to read the email for the other person.
