I speak: English
My gender: Female
Where I practice
I was born at Kaiser Permanente’s Ala Moana Medical Center in Hawaii, the original Kaiser Permanente hospital which has now been relocated to Moanalua. Ever since I was a little kid I wanted to go into medicine. My father suffered from a serious injury during my childhood and from that point on I knew I wanted to help people, like the doctors who helped my father.
About my practice
I had my first clinical experience with internal medicine as a third year in medical school and fell in love with it. I embrace the mental challenge especially with determining diagnoses in patients with complex conditions who I love getting to know over time. At the Hawaii Permanente Medical Group, I enjoy working with colleagues whom I trust and respect because I know my patients are in good hands when I need to refer them or when I am not in the clinic. The Kaiser Permanente system fully supports my growth as a physician and allows me to expand my interest in teaching. I believe in caring for the whole member including their physical, social and emotional health. I love working with my patients as a team, setting goals together that lead them towards their ideal health. And I always enjoy hearing more about their lives. I am active in continuing medical education within Kaiser Permanente and teach medical students and residents.
How I thrive
I enjoy spending time with my husband and two beautiful daughters. I also love to run daily with my dog Oscar, a Scottish Deerhound.
