Kaiser Permanente has received a strike notice from the United Nurses Associations of California/Union of Health Care Professionals (UNAC/UHCP).

UNAC/UHCP has issued notice for an open-ended strike involving a limited number of employees beginning Monday, January 26, at our Hawaii facilities. A strike notice doesn’t mean a strike will happen. If a strike does occur, our Moanalua Medical Center and all our medical facilities will stay open, and we have robust plans in place to ensure you receive the care you need. Some of our pharmacy locations may need to close, so please pick up any prescriptions before January 26.

It’s possible we may need to reschedule some nonurgent appointments and elective surgeries. If you have an appointment scheduled on a possible strike date, please don't cancel or reschedule. We’ll reach out to you if we have to reschedule your care.

Your care is our priority. We appreciate your understanding and apologize for any potential inconvenience this may cause.

How to get prescriptions

We’ve made extensive preparations to provide pharmacy services if a strike occurs. If any of our pharmacies need to close, we will provide specific updates on this webpage. Please rest assured that a care team will support filling new and urgent prescriptions at our open locations.

The most convenient way to fill your new nonurgent and refill prescriptions is always through our mail-order delivery service. We encourage you to sign up on kp.org/pharmacy or the Kaiser Permanente app.

On kp.org, you can find an estimated delivery time based on recent mail trends. Typically, you should receive your medications in about 5 to 7 days. There's no cost for shipping.

We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this strike activity may cause.
