About me
I grew up in the panhandle of Florida and attended the University of Florida for my undergraduate studies (Go Gators!). I earned my medical degree from Florida Atlantic University, which included a one-year orthopaedic surgery research fellowship at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. I then spent five years in Dallas, Texas for orthopaedic surgery residency at Baylor University Medical Center, followed by a year in Tampa, Fla. to complete a musculoskeletal (orthopaedic) oncology fellowship at Moffitt Cancer Center. I joined Kaiser Permanente in 2023.
About my practice
My practice is perhaps the most unique of the orthopedic surgery providers at Kaiser Permanente, as it is part arthroplasty (hip & knee replacements) and part orthopedic oncology (bone & soft tissue tumors). One minute I may be administering a steroid injection for knee arthritis, and the next I might be having a serious discussion with a member about their newly diagnosed cancer. I also serve as one of the main consultants for any extremity "lumps and bumps" that other Kaiser Permanente providers come across when they see our members. This means I get to meet and care for a variety of patients and often get to know my patients very well over the years. I strive to learn about the patients I care for and to work with them to develop a personalized treatment plan based on factors such as their occupation, family/home life, hobbies/interests and other medical concerns. My favorite time in clinic is getting to tell someone that the lump on their arm/leg is NOT cancerous or seeing a patient strut into the office pain-free after a hip or knee replacement.
I maintain professional memberships and regularly participate in conferences/activities with the Musculoskeletal Tumor Society and the American Association of Hip and Knee Surgeons.
How I thrive
I love learning and being a part of something bigger than myself. I enjoy attending educational courses and conferences where I can stay up-to-date on the latest evidence-based medicine and hone my skills as a surgeon. I communicate regularly with friends and colleagues across the country, and find the collaborative network of support and mentorship to be extremely rewarding and fulfilling while navigating a sometimes challenging career field.
I have a passion for medical mission trips, after spending time in Nicaragua and Guatemala during my surgical training. I intend to serve on many more mission trips over my career. My ears are always open to new medical mission opportunities.
When not at work, I try to spend as much time as possible outdoors, and with my dog, friends, or family. Aside from Gator football, I love watching the Dallas Stars and Tampa Bay Lightning hockey teams.

Kaiser Permanente uses the same quality, member experience, or cost-related measures to select providers and facilities in Marketplace Silver-tier plans as it does for all other Kaiser Foundation Health Plan (KFHP) products and lines of business. The measures may include, but are not limited to, HEDIS/CAHPS performance, member/patient complaints, patient safety scores, hospital quality measures, and geographic need. Members enrolled in KFHP Marketplace plans have access to all professional, institutional and ancillary health care providers who participate in KFHP plans' contracted provider network, in accordance with the terms of the members' KFHP plan of coverage. All Kaiser Permanente Medical Group physicians and network physicians are subject to the same quality review processes and certifications.
Kaiser Permanente uses the same geographic distribution consideration to select hospitals in Marketplace plans as it does for all other Kaiser Foundation Health Plan (KFHP) products and lines of business.
