Where I practice
About me
I am a board-certified hematologist/medical oncologist practicing at Kaiser Permanente’s Bellflower Medical Center. I believe a cancer diagnosis is a life-altering experience, unique to each individual. It is truly a privilege to walk alongside members during this journey and to help guide them through treatment in a way that aligns with their goals, values, and hopes for the future.
Biography
My family’s roots in Southern California go back more than a century — my great-grandfather crossed the Pacific Ocean in the early 1900s and eventually made this region his home. I was born and raised in Los Angeles and continue to live close to where I grew up. I am now raising 2 children with my husband, continuing a legacy of family, community, and connection to this area.
About my practice
I believe that high-quality clinical care requires the discipline to follow current scientific evidence while also maintaining compassion for each person’s unique preferences and circumstances. My goal is to combine these principles to deliver care that is both precise and deeply human.
Cancer Subspecialty Focus
My clinical expertise includes the diagnosis and management of a broad range of solid tumors and hematologic conditions. I care for individuals with gastrointestinal, breast, head and neck, genitourinary, skin (including melanoma), lung, thymic, thyroid, and endocrine cancers. I also treat complex and malignant hematologic disorders such as lymphoma, as well as benign blood conditions.
Collaboration on Multidisciplinary Teams
At Kaiser Permanente, we believe that, team-based care leads to positive outcomes. I participate in regional multidisciplinary tumor boards, working closely with specialists in medical oncology, radiation oncology, surgery, hematology, and pathology. Through this collaborative approach, each patient receives a comprehensive treatment plan grounded in collective expertise and current clinical evidence
Research and Clinical Trials
Advancing cancer care through research is an important part of my work. I am an active member of several National Cancer Institute–supported research networks, including SWOG Cancer Research Network, the National Surgical Adjuvant Breast and Bowel Project (NSABP), the Alliance for Clinical Trials in Oncology, and NRG Oncology. As a sub-investigator on multiple clinical trials, I help bring emerging treatments and innovative therapies directly to Kaiser Permanente members.
How I thrive
Members are my greatest inspiration. I am continually humbled by the strength, dignity, and resilience members show while facing cancer alongside the many social, economic, and personal challenges of daily life. Their courage reminds me every day of the true meaning of gratitude.
I love spending time with my family and, like many people, sometimes find myself stressing over the responsibilities of daily living. But in caring for members, I am reminded constantly that the ability to navigate everyday stress is itself a blessing and that good health is one of life’s greatest gifts.
