About me

Hello, and thank you for taking the time to read my Web page. I believe it is important for members to know their physician on both a personal and credentialed level. The delivery of medical care is a privilege built on trust and partnership - grounded in science and guided by humanity.

Biography

I began my academic journey as an engineering student and was inspired to pursue medicine after attending conferences focused on medical device innovation. I became passionate about using medical technology to help relieve suffering and improve lives. After earning my bachelor’s degree, I redirected my path toward medicine.

I completed all my medical training at the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio, beginning with residency training in internal medicine, followed by fellowships in geriatric medicine, hematology, and oncology.

In 2008, I was fortunate to join the Kaiser Permanente team and have since built a thriving practice in Orange County.

About my practice

I practice hematology and oncology in Orange County and consider it a privilege to care for members who entrust me with their health during vulnerable times. I value the opportunity to learn from members every day and am grateful for the strong support system provided by my colleagues and staff.

My approach emphasizes partnership, innovation, and compassionate care tailored to each individual.

My Cancer Subspecialty Focus

My primary focus is breast cancer and genomic oncology, with particular emphasis on targeted therapies and precision medicine. I am committed to incorporating genetic and molecular insights into individual treatment strategies to improve outcomes and personalize care for each member.

National Expertise on Multidisciplinary Teams

As an active member of regional multidisciplinary teams and the Tumor Board, I collaborate with specialists in medical oncology, hematology, radiation oncology, pathology, and other disciplines to develop comprehensive treatment plans. This collaborative approach ensures that members — especially those with malignant hematologic conditions — receive personalized care that is based on evidence and current research and aligned with current national standards and research advancements.

Research and Clinical Trials

I am an active participant in several National Cancer Institute–supported oncology research networks, including:

  • SWOG Cancer Research Network
  • National Surgical Adjuvant Breast and Bowel Project (NSABP)
  • Alliance for Clinical Trials in Oncology
  • NRG Oncology

As a sub-investigator on multiple clinical trials, I help bring innovative and promising therapies to patients in our community. My research also focuses on cancer survivorship, with the goal of improving long-term quality of life, reducing complications, and minimizing recurrence risk after treatment.

How I thrive

I strive to maintain balance in my life, keeping home and family as my highest priorities. I cherish time spent with my husband and young children — whether cooking, baking, making a mess, or cleaning up together. These everyday moments keep me grounded and remind me that simple joys often bring the greatest fulfillment.
