Where I practice
Welcome to my Web page. I am glad that you have entrusted Kaiser Permanente with your health and hope that I can help you with all your needs to maintain excellent digestive health. I am happy to have this chance to introduce myself to you and tell you about my practice.
Born in Taiwan, I moved with my family to California at age ten. After completing high school in Northern California, I ventured to New England for my undergraduate studies and earned my MD at Brown University. After internal medicine residency in Chicago, I moved to Los Angeles for my gastroenterology training. I completed a clinical gastroenterology fellowship and concomitantly earned a PhD in molecular biology, studying intestinal growth and repair at UCLA. After training, I remained at UCLA as faculty for five years where I practiced gastroenterology with a focus on inflammatory bowel diseases (IBD) and continued my research prior to joining Kaiser Permanente.
About my practice
I strongly believe in a shared approach to health care decision-making. I will provide you as much information as I can, and make suggestions about what I think will be the most sensible course of action for you so that you can make an informed choice that is best for you.
How I thrive
My family life is my major priority. When I am not working, I have my hands full being a father of three and try to spend as much time as possible with them. My wife, my children and I all enjoy traveling and experiencing different cultures.
