Where I practice
Hello, and thank you for taking the time to come to this Web page to learn more about me. I consider myself a detail-oriented surgeon/physician. This applies to caring for members surgically or medically, depending on their needs. I believe in the importance of the patient-doctor relationship and that communication is very important in achieving the conditions for best results.
I grew up in Southern California and went to UCLA as an undergraduate. Subsequently I studied medicine at the State University of New York in Brooklyn. I completed a residency in otolaryngology/head and neck surgery at Wayne State University in Michigan and a fellowship in otology/neurotology /skull base surgery at University of Miami. I have worked in private practice for 7 years and was in academic practice at Henry Ford Health System/Wayne State University as assistant clinical professor for 6 years. Most recently, I served as the residency program director for the Otolaryngology/Head and Neck Surgery Residency Program at Henry Ford. I am board certified in otolaryngology and subspecialty board certified in otology/neurotology. This year, I was honored with the Fowler Award (the highest award given by the Triological Society) for excellence in basic science research for my triologic thesis. I spend my free time enjoying my 2 daughters and seeing them grow up to be wonderful people. We love to travel and hike, and I love to bike. We also love to cook together at home.
About my practice
In my practice, I believe that every member must be cared for with compassion and integrity. I believe in medicine based on evidence and current research, and I believe in using the most up-to-date treatments and surgical procedures for members. I try to treat all members the way I would a family member. I specialize in disorders of the ear and treat hearing loss, chronic draining ears, eardrum perforations, cochlear implants for deafness, and tumors of the ear and the inner ear. I also specialize in disorders of the inner ear causing vertigo or tinnitus.
How I thrive
My family and friends keep me grounded. I am optimistic and spiritual and believe that the glass is always half full.
