Welcome to my Web page. I'm happy to have this chance to introduce myself to you and tell you about my practice. I feel very fortunate to work at Kaiser Permanente with wonderful colleagues and patients, and look forward to working with you to care for your health.
After 27 years growing up in the freezing rain and humidity of southeastern Pennsylvania, I escaped to the sun and warmth of Southern California. I completed a residency in family medicine at Long Beach Memorial Hospital and have been with Kaiser Permanente for 30 years. With eight children (and nine grandchildren as of this writing), I don't really have time for hobbies. However, I do consider exercise to be of utmost importance.
The patients I serve are either terminally ill or have chronic illnesses amenable only to palliative care. Communication with patients and their families is an important part of my practice. I feel honored that patients have entrusted me with their care and strive to treat them as I would my own family.
There is no substitute for healthy daily living habits, which means attending to exercise, nutrition, sleep, and religious needs. The beneficial effects of family and meaning in life are well documented. I strive for happiness and try to avoid negativity.
