Hello, and welcome to my Web page. I am happy to have this chance to introduce myself to you and tell you about my psychiatry practice.
I lived most of my life in Switzerland until I decided to move first to Austria to study medicine and then to Los Angeles to do research. I thought this would only be temporary, but I fell in love with L.A. I began my residency at Dartmouth College and completed it at UCLA. I have always wanted to become a psychiatrist to help people understand themselves and improve their quality of life.
My European background and training have influenced my way of practicing and the importance I set to therapy. I do believe that medication can be helpful, but I always see it as a support to therapy. In addition, exercise, support from family, friends and spirituality are an essential part of the treatment. Who my patients are as a whole always influences the treatment, and I always try to collaborate with my patients in their care.
I enjoy going to the theater and watching movies. On the other hand I also love just staying in with my family and having friends over. This is how I find my balance in life.
