About me
Welcome! I am excited to share a bit about my background and my goals for members. I’m so glad you’re here.
Biography
I am a Los Angeles native from a family of television comedy writers who have always supported my wide array of interests in the arts. However, I developed an interest in medicine following my recovery from a third-degree burn I acquired from an accident on Halloween. I was very inspired by the bedside manner of my surgeon and how he participated in the reconstruction of both my body and spirit. How neat it is to play such an impactful role in a person’s life. I believed that in order for me to serve my patients, I would need to maintain my passions and commitment to the arts. I went on to receive a bachelor’s of music from Tufts University in Boston. I then earned my master’s degree and medical doctorate from Eastern Virginia Medical School while performing with an improvisational comedy group based in Virginia Beach. I discovered that the skills I used on stage to support my troupe members and entertain the audience were similar to techniques used on my clinical rotations. I completed my OB/GYN residency at Creighton University School of Medicine in Phoenix, where I served as administrative chief resident. I am grateful for the time I spent furthering my education around the country and immersing myself in a diverse range of communities, but ultimately I have always envisioned returning to Southern California and could not be more thrilled be at Kaiser Permanente in San Diego.
About my practice
My aim is to create a comfortable environment for all members. As an OB/GYN, it is an immense privilege to stand with our members as they experience life’s greatest highs or lows. I want everyone who enters my practice to feel heard, supported, empowered, and safe.
How I thrive
I do my best work when I am able to put all my focus into the time I spend with members, while still cultivating my passions outside of my practice. Whether it’s jamming on the bass while my husband plays piano, dancing it up in Zumba class, or attending the newest improv comedy show in town, it is important to make time for joy.
