Where I practice
Hello, and welcome to my Web page. I have been with Kaiser Permanente at Woodland Hills Medical Center for more than 30 years as a comprehensive primary care internist.
I am a native Californian, born and raised in Oakland. I am married and have three grown sons. I find medicine challenging and satisfying, and I feel privileged to be a part of my patients’ lives. I chose to become a physician while studying nutrition in college. I realized that I wanted to participate in a broader scope of patient care.
About my practice
I have an active clinical practice as well as administrative duties. I was department chief of our Internal Medicine Department and have now added a role of overseeing the care provided to our members who don’t require a stay in the hospital. I am proud of the work we have done to improve the lives of our members, and I am proud to have helped improve our screening rates for breast, cervical, and colon cancer. I really try to get to know each of my patients as individuals. I see each of them as a member of his or her own family and community. I deal with their medical issues, assist them with preventive care, and put it all in the context of their lives. Because I’ve been a physician for over 30 years, I’ve taken care of multiple generations of families.
How I thrive
I stay healthy by being involved outside of work. I enjoy doing needlepoint and photography, exercising, and being active in my religious community. I am passionate about our national parks, and I really love Yellowstone and the Grand Tetons (especially the moose there). My husband and I entertain frequently and enjoy spending time with friends from very different walks of live. Now that my sons are out of the house, I speak with them often and glow with pride over their accomplishments. When my family is happy, I am happy.
