Where I practice
Welcome to my Web page. I am happy to have this chance to introduce myself to you and tell you about my work in the hospital. I feel very fortunate to work at Kaiser Permanente because of my wonderful colleagues and patients. The hospital is a unique, intense, exciting, and sometimes scary place for patients, and I try to make the experience as smooth as it can be. I try to involve my patients and their families in their own care.
I have lived all over the United States, from New York to Iowa to San Francisco and North Carolina. The ocean has kept me in Southern California. I love literature and stories, and I frequently write. I fell in love with medicine because it is a tremendous privilege to be able to make a difference in people's life stories. Also, I enjoy teaching, and medicine gives me the opportunity to teach my patients, their families, the staff, and the residents. The great thing about medicine is that there is always something new to learn, and I enjoy keeping up with the advances in medical science.
About my practice
I practice inpatient medicine, meaning I see patients in the hospital and emergency departments. I work collaboratively with other physicians and nursing and other staff to take care of our sickest patients and get them back on the road to wellness. Being a doctor is a unique privilege, and it uses my intellectual, emotional and physical skills. I feel great about helping my patients, and I try to treat each patient as a unique, whole person.
How I thrive
I make sure to carve out free time, which I spend with my family and friends, or painting, reading, writing, traveling, and exercising. I just got certified as a Yoga Alliance instructor and find yoga helps me keep balanced. The ocean and the mountains here in Southern California provide me with ample opportunities to connect with nature.
