Where I practice
Welcome to my Web page. I am happy to have this chance to introduce myself to you and tell you about my practice. I feel very fortunate to work at Kaiser Permanente because of my wonderful colleagues and our members, and I look forward to working with you to care for your health.
I was born in Tokyo, Japan. My family immigrated to the United States when I was 14. After completing my training in 1992, I joined Kaiser Permanente in Riverside and became a partner in 1994. In 1995, I left Kaiser Permanente and joined a private practice group specializing in spine care. Then I returned to Kaiser Permanente in 2002 to be part of the physical medicine department at Woodland Hills. I am married and have one daughter.
About my practice
A physiatrist is a physician specializing in physical medicine and rehabilitation. Physiatrists treat a wide range of problems from low back pain to stroke. We see members in all age groups and treat problems that touch upon all the major systems in the body. Our specialty focus is on restoring physical function to people. Currently, I spend half my time seeing members in the office and the other half performing spinal procedures.
How I thrive
I believe in both spiritual and body wellness. I am active in a local church, read inspirational books, and exercise on a regular basis. I also believe in balancing work and family life.
