About me
Hello, and welcome to my Web page. I am pleased to be in the Radiology Department with Kaiser Permanente Orange County here at the Irvine Medical Center. I feel fortunate to work with such a wonderful group of clinicians and fellow radiologists to provide high-quality care to our members.
Biography
I am a native of Southern California. I also come from a medically oriented family, as my father was a pharmacist and my mother was a family physician. My interest in medicine was instilled at a young age. I am very familiar with Kaiser Permanente having been a member growing up. I am a UCLA alumnus (many times over!) and devoted fan. My Bruins surgical cap is also a great conversation starter. My faith and family inspire me to do my very best for you and your loved ones when you are in need of my services.
About my practice
My subspecialty is Interventional Radiology, or IR, a wonderful field that involves truly meaningful physician-patient interaction. This division of radiology is focused on minimally invasive, image-guided procedures and therapy. We perform these procedures under fluoroscopic, computed tomography, and ultrasound guidance. We have a growing practice that uses imaging guidance to direct a needle and/or catheter nearly anywhere in the body for diagnostic or therapeutic purposes. I also perform diagnostic radiology and interpret X-rays, computed tomography, magnetic resonance imaging, and ultrasound studies. I have a particular interest in kyphoplasty, a procedure to stabilize painful spinal compression fractures.
How I thrive
I have become a dedicated swimmer in my quest for good health and fitness. My family and I are also actively involved in our church with a focus on service projects. Our past efforts have centered on providing food, clothing, and school supplies to needy families in and around Orange County. I also coach youth sports in an attempt to keep up with my active boys. My wife and I schedule regular date nights to stay grounded.
