About me
Welcome to my Web page! I would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself and tell you about my background.
Biography
My educational journey has encompassed spending time on both the West Coast and the East Coast. I attended college at UC Berkeley, where I studied chemistry and Near Eastern literature and graduated with highest honors. At Berkeley, I became intrigued by both the science and practice of medicine. I attended medical school at Yale University School of Medicine, where I had a wonderful time exploring diverse areas of medicine and became interested in dermatology. While at Yale, I took a research year to study the immunology of skin cancer, during which time I met my wife! I moved to Philadelphia for my internship in internal medicine at Pennsylvania Hospital at the University of Pennsylvania. I completed my dermatology residency at University of Texas Southwestern in Dallas. I served as chief resident at the VA North Texas Medical Center and received the Star Clinician award. My love for teaching and academic medicine brought me to UCLA, where I served as faculty in the Division of Dermatology. At UCLA, I directed the pigmented lesions specialty clinic for patients with melanoma and dysplastic nevi. I also had the amazing opportunity to teach residents dermoscopy, a diagnostic method for the detection of early skin cancers. I was honored to receive the outstanding teaching award from the UCLA dermatology residents. My journey finally brought me to Kaiser Permanente in Orange County, where I am excited to practice as a dermatologist.
About my practice
I strive to provide high-quality, compassionate care to all my members, focusing on member-centered medicine and recent advances in dermatology. I have special interest in the diagnosis and treatment of skin cancer, acne, and psoriasis, and in medical dermatology and procedural dermatology, including surgery for skin cancers. My goal is to provide high-quality care to members, and nothing in medicine brings me more joy than seeing members get better.
How I thrive
I enjoy keeping active by spending time outdoors, hiking and going for walks on the beach. Meditation helps bring balance to my body and mind. My wife and I love traveling to new destinations and exploring different cuisines and cultures. I love to spend time with my wife and my growing family and have found Southern California to be the perfect place for us.
