Where I practice
Hello! My name is Maricela, but you can call me “Cela” or “Garcia.” I can’t wait to meet you. In the meantime, this Web page should help you get to know me a little better!
I was born and raised in the greater Los Angeles area. I’ve spent some time living abroad but have always come back home to Southern California. I love my city’s diversity! I define myself by the connections I’ve made in my community. I’m a Trojan, but I’m Bruin friendly! I’m proud to be the first physician in my family.
About my practice
My primary training is in family medicine, providing comprehensive health care to people of all ages. I chose this specialty because I love working with people of all ages from all walks of life. My subspecialty training is in palliative medicine: a philosophy of medicine that focuses on relieving symptoms such as pain or nausea and explores one’s personal values to improve quality of life. I also have hospice training, which is palliative medicine for those at the end of life. I am passionate about helping people live, but I also believe they should be able to die with dignity. I’m grateful and honored to work with a team of nurses, social workers, home health aides, and chaplains to provide multidisciplinary care to our members in the Santa Clarita Valley. Since I currently perform home visits, my office is my car!
How I thrive
I try my best to live in the moment. I’m the mother of 3 young daughters, and 2 Yorkies. I’m a daughter, a sister, and a wife. I enjoy science fiction and actually met my husband for the first time while in line for Star Wars.
