About me
My name is Dr. Lisa Stekol and I’ve had the privilege of working with Kaiser Permanente for over 17 years. During that time, I've seen my practice grow and become more and more responsive to members' needs. I hope this Web page proves helpful and informative to you.
Biography
I was born in Roanoke Rapids, North Carolina, but grew up in California. I attended college at UC Berkeley, where I graduated Phi Beta Kappa. I married my husband before starting medical school at UCLA. We have two adult children. Our daughter was born while I was still a medical student and our son was born just prior to my starting residency at Cedars-Sinai.
About my practice
I enjoy all aspects of pediatric medicine, from outpatient care to inpatient care. In addition, I love caring for members across the continuum, from newborns to teens. One of the most satisfying things for me has been to see members I have known for years grow into healthy, happy adults—although it’s always difficult to say "goodbye" as they move on to adult medicine for their care. Caring for my patients continues to be the most rewarding aspect of my work at Kaiser Permanente. I have been fortunate for the past 14 years to work as a team with Linda Isom-Lucas, LVN, who shares in my philosophy and always puts our members first, no matter what.
How I thrive
Balance in life is important for everyone. My family helps me stay grounded, and I enjoy spending time with my husband and children. I also exercise regularly at the gym, where I take spin and yoga classes. I enjoy cooking when I can find the time, and I love doing anything outside!
