About me
Hello, and welcome to my Web page. I am excited to be a part of this community, and I hope this page allows you to get to know me.
Biography
I was born and raised in the Poconos of Pennsylvania. I graduated from Wilkes University in Pennsylvania. After graduating, I worked in research at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York before joining the Army and going to medical school at the Uniformed Services University in Bethesda, Maryland. I completed my internal medicine residency at Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington, DC. After residency, I was a general internal medicine physician at Fort Hood, Texas, for 2 years. I returned to training and completed my pulmonary/critical care and sleep medicine fellowships at Brooke Army Medical Center in San Antonio, Texas. After fellowship, I was stationed back at Fort Hood, working in internal medicine, pulmonary/critical care, and sleep medicine. I moved to Los Angeles with my husband and 2 teenage boys to be closer to our siblings. We are having the time of our lives living here.
About my practice
I provide consultative care to members with lung/respiratory disorders and also sleep-related difficulties. I provide hospital-based pulmonary treatment and care for our sickest members while in the ICU. My calling in medicine is to see you as the whole person who is sitting with me. I feel this viewpoint not only aids in the discovery of the underlying disorder but also helps us identify ways to have the best possible outcome through medicine that is both personalized and based on evidence and current research. I feel privileged to be at Kaiser Permanente and working with the team of pulmonary/critical care and sleep physicians. I look forward to meeting you and assisting you through your medical needs.
How I thrive
I thrive through spending time with my family. My husband and I love to explore new areas. We love to take walks in our neighborhood (or on the beach), hike in the canyons, and spend time in the pool. I have found that I am more grounded and excel when I exercise and meditate. I run, spin, box (and kickbox), lift weights, swim, and do yoga. I try to stay balanced in my activities. I love hockey, and both my boys play so I get to watch it regularly. I read daily and I love a good puzzle.
