Where I practice
Welcome to Kaiser Permanente and my Web page. Thank you for checking in and taking the time to learn more about me
I am currently a practicing nuclear medicine physician at the San Diego Medical Center on Zion Ave. I was inspired to become a physician during high school, when I realized I had a passion for biology and helping people. I started out as a Hospital Corpsman in the United States Navy before completing medical school at Pennsylvania State University. While I was practicing family medicine, I became interested in nuclear oncology and completed a nuclear medicine residency and fellowship. I like to continuously learn about my field and maintain board certification, with an emphasis on nuclear oncology, thyroid diseases, and nuclear cardiology. I am married to a radiologist and have four children.
About my practice
Our nuclear medicine division team works together to study various diseases using radioisotopes, which we use to find out how well your body systems are functioning, for example, to check on your heart muscle. We also treat thyroid disease and some cancers. My subspecialty, positron emission tomography, is primarily focused on helping a person with cancer better understand the behavior of their cancer and choose the right care.
How I thrive
My personal philosophy of a healthy balance between work, education, home, and relaxation fits well with the Kaiser Permanente emphasis on balance. I enjoy grilling, craft beer and biking, and of course, spending time with my family. I live out my dreams through my family, who are my daily inspiration.
