About me
Welcome! I am a certified nurse-midwife (CNM), and I’d like to tell you more about my role at Kaiser Permanente. I am a highly trained healthcare professional who cares for you before, during, and after your pregnancy, as well as delivering your baby. For your well-woman care needs I perform physical examinations, diagnose and treat illnesses, prescribe medications, order and interpret lab tests, provide family planning, and birth control counseling. As part of our team-based care model at Kaiser Permanente, I work with physicians as a valuable part of your care team.
Biography
I grew up in California's Central Valley and moved to the greater Los Angeles area for college. I've remained here ever since! The word "midwife" literally means to "be with women" and I feel deeply honored to “be with women” through all the stages of their reproductive lives.
Swimming has been an important part of my life, and I competed collegiately throughout college. I also had the experience of welcoming both of my children through home births. In addition to my clinical work, I partner with a local nonprofit organization to educate women about the menopause transition.
About my practice
I care for women through many stages of life, including preconception counseling, family planning, pregnancy, perimenopause, and menopause. I believe exceptional women's health care begins with listening. I take the time to understand not only my patients' symptoms, but also their goals, concerns, and priorities so we can develop a personalized, evidence-based plan of care. I work closely with obstetric, maternal-fetal medicine, and gynecologic specialists to help ensure patients receive the care they need. I enjoy caring for women of all ages and appreciate how Kaiser Permanente's integrated care model helps patients navigate the health care system without feeling lost.
How I thrive
When I'm not at work, I enjoy swimming, reading, and spending time with my husband and 2 children. These activities give me life and help me show up as my best self for my patients and my family.
