Where I practice
Welcome to my Web page. I’m happy to have this chance to introduce myself to you and tell you about my practice. I feel very fortunate to work at Kaiser Permanente because of my wonderful colleagues and members, and I look forward to working with you to care for your health.
I was born in Los Angeles and raised in the small community of South Pasadena. I did my undergraduate work at Pomona College, and attended medical school in Boston at Tufts University. Having been raised in Southern California and I was never able to tolerate the frigid winters on the East Coast, so I came back home to do my residency and fellowship at UCLA. I’m married and have two daughters that keep me very busy at home. When I’m not busy with my family, I like to stay active by training for triathlons. I recently accomplished my goal of completing a half Ironman in 2014.
About my practice
Our Nephrology Department works in a multidisciplinary approach. In addition to the seven physicians who work here, there’s also an excellent staff of a nurses, a dietician, and a social worker who will help you in the management of kidney disease. Because of the complexity of kidney disease, we feel that a team approach is the best way to take care of you. Besides seeing members in the clinic and the hospital, I also spend two days per month at Fresenius Medical Care Woodland Hills in the dialysis unit.
How I thrive
I enjoy staying active and fit by getting up every morning to run, bike, or swim prior to starting my day. It really puts you in the right state of mind!
