About me
Thank you for visiting my Web page. I’m happy to have this chance to introduce myself to you and tell you about my practice. I'm a general surgeon at Kaiser Permanente Medical Centers in Orange County. I feel very fortunate to be joining the Kaiser Permanente organization.
Biography
I was born and raised in Jamestown, New York. My interest in medicine began when I was very young, but it wasn't until my first day of surgical rotations as a medical student that I fully realized my passion for surgery. I attended medical school at State University of New York (SUNY) University at Buffalo and then completed residency at St. Luke's University Health Network in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. I then moved to Southern California to complete a minimally invasive surgery fellowship at UC Irvine. Since completing training in 2020, I originally returned to St. Luke’s to practice and then relocated with my family to Southern California, where I was previously in private practice.
About my practice
I enjoy treating a wide variety of diseases, ranging from simple conditions to complex ones that involve different organ systems. The majority of my elective practice involves minimally invasive surgery to treat abdominal disorders such as gallbladder disease, abdominal hernias, inguinal hernias, gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), and hiatal hernias. I believe strongly in embracing new technologies such as minimally invasive techniques and robotic surgery to provide positive outcomes and quicker, less painful recovery for our members. I also treat other conditions such as skin conditions and breast problems. In addition to embracing new technologies, I take time with each member to ensure understanding. I strongly believe that every problem should be explained in-depth with all treatment options (surgical or otherwise) being discussed, and all questions answered. I consider it a privilege to be able to provide individualized care with empathy during members’ most vulnerable times.
How I thrive
Thriving for me is about balancing ambition with self-care, leveraging my passions, and nurturing meaningful connections. I achieve a deep sense of purpose through my work as a physician, but I am most proud of being a mother to our beautiful and funny daughter. I prioritize my physical and mental well-being through regular exercise and mindfulness practices, which help me manage stress effectively and maintain a positive outlook, even during demanding times. I love to be outside with my family when not working, and I can often be found walking the Back Bay or the beach, at a playground with our daughter, or playing tennis. We love to travel as a family to explore new places and try new food, as well as connecting with friends and family.
