About me
Welcome! My name is Dr. Dejun Shen. I’m pleased to introduce myself and share a bit about my professional background and commitment to care.
Biography
I am a pathologist dedicated to providing accurate and timely diagnoses that help guide member care. I have a strong interest in diagnostic pathology and enjoys the analytical process of evaluating tissue specimens and integrating clinical information to support effective treatment decisions.
Although I was born and raised and completed much of his early education in the beautiful city of Hangzhou, China, I consider Los Angeles my home in the United States, where I have lived for most of the time since 1995. I received my medical education at Zhejiang University in Hangzhou. I completed my pathology residency training at USC and later pursued fellowship training in breast and surgical pathology at Harvard Medical School in Boston.
I value collaboration with multidisciplinary clinical teams and enjoy contributing to member-centered care.
About my practice
My approach to practicing medicine is grounded in accuracy, collaboration, and continuous learning. As a pathologist, I focus on carefully evaluating tissue specimens and integrating clinical information to provide clear and reliable diagnoses that help guide member care decisions.
I believe that effective medicine is built on teamwork. Working closely with surgeons, oncologists, radiologists, and other specialists allows us to combine different perspectives and expertise to support high-quality care for members. Multidisciplinary discussions, such as tumor boards, are an important part of this process.
I am also committed to lifelong learning and maintaining high professional standards. Advances in pathology and diagnostic medicine continue to improve our understanding of disease, and staying current with these developments helps ensure that members receive thoughtful and informed diagnostic evaluations.
How I thrive
Maintaining a healthy balance between professional and personal life is important to me. Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with family, staying active, and continuing to learn about a wide range of topics beyond medicine. Exploring new ideas and maintaining personal interests help me stay curious, energized, and engaged both in my work and in life.
