Kaiser Permanente physician
English, French, German, Spanish
My gender: Male
Accepting new patients. Referral may be required.
I was born and raised in Germany. After attending medical school, including a one-year exchange in France, I graduated from Humboldt University in Berlin. I went on to work as an intern in Great Britain before coming to the United States. After completing my pediatric residency at the University of South Alabama and spending several years in private practice, I was very happy to join Kaiser Permanente.
As a pediatrician, I place a great emphasis on prevention. I believe that one of the best ways to protect your child's health is to immunize, and I encourage all parents to follow the recommended vaccine schedule. I believe in practicing evidence-based medicine and try to provide parents with as much information as possible to help them make the best health care decisions for their children. Working for Kaiser Permanente allows me to practice in a variety of settings. As a family medicine pediatrician, I provide a “medical home” at Sunset Medical Office, and I take care of hospitalized members at Doernbecher Children's Hospital.
I enjoy spending time with my family. My wife, our 3 children, and dog love the multitude of outdoor activities that the Portland area has to offer. As my wife is from Canada and I am from Germany, we spend a fair amount of time traveling abroad to visit relatives. I also have a passion for soccer and continue to play in an adult league. I particularly enjoy attending the games of our Portland Timbers.
