About me

Hello my name is Dr. Patel, I'm happy to introduce myself as a Kaiser Permanente physician. I started working in the Baldwin Park Medical Center Emergency Department in 2017 and hope for a long, healthy, and happy career here!

Biography

I grew up in Fullerton, but left for eight years for medical school and residency in New York City. I fell in love with emergency medicine there, seeing patients who spoke every language, had different stories to tell, and sometimes had nowhere else to go but the emergency department. There I also met my wife, whom I convinced quite easily to return with me to California to work, live, and explore. I also got the benefit of returning to my beloved Dodgers and Lakers.

About my practice

The emergency department is not a place people generally go by choice, and it can usually be a very stressful or scary day for the patient and their family. My goal is to provide efficient, safe, and thorough care to you and your family. I always try to take the time to explain results and care instructions since health and medical problems can be confusing. Lastly, my personal goal is to try and provide a smile or a laugh, hopefully making that stressful visit to the ED not so bad.

How I thrive

I chose Kaiser Permanente partly because it helped my wife and I have similar schedules. This helps us balance work and our outside life which we like to spend exploring our neighborhood in Downtown LA, seeing local sports teams, exploring all the beautiful outdoor sites, and having time to travel and see the world both on land and underwater (we both enjoy scuba diving)!
