About me

Welcome! After years of caring for hospitalized patients, I'm excited to focus on preventing illness before it starts. I look forward to partnering with you through every stage of your health journey with compassionate, personalized care.

Biography

I was born in Kentucky, raised in Michigan, and have been fortunate to live and train in several parts of the country. Before medical school, I attended Grand Valley State University, where I played collegiate soccer and developed an appreciation for teamwork, resilience, and lifelong wellness. I earned my medical degree from Central Michigan University before completing my internal medicine residency at Oregon Health & Science University in Portland.

I began my career as a hospitalist, caring for patients with complex medical conditions in both community and academic hospitals throughout Oregon. While I found that work incredibly rewarding, it also reinforced my belief that some of the greatest opportunities to improve health happen long before someone is admitted to the hospital. That perspective inspired my transition to outpatient internal medicine, where I can focus on preventive care, women's health, and building lasting relationships with members. My family and I recently relocated to California to be closer to my husband's family, and I'm grateful to now call California home and look forward to building long-term relationships with members in the community while helping them stay healthy through every stage of life.

About my practice

I believe that positive medical care begins with a strong partnership between physician and member. My goal is to create a welcoming, collaborative environment where members feel heard, informed, and empowered to make decisions about their health. I value open communication and shared decision-making because every member's goals, values, and circumstances are unique.

My approach to medicine emphasizes prevention whenever possible. I enjoy helping members build healthy habits, identify risks early, and navigate chronic medical conditions with practical strategies that are based on evidence and current research. I generally believe that when appropriate, a ""less is more"" approach can often lead to better outcomes by avoiding unnecessary testing or treatments while focusing on interventions that have the greatest impact on health and quality of life. As an internal medicine physician, I care for adults across all stages of life. I have a particular interest in preventive medicine and women's health, and I enjoy partnering with members to address concerns ranging from routine wellness and chronic disease management to navigating health changes through different life stages. My hope is to build lasting relationships with members and support them in achieving their long-term health goals.

How I thrive

Maintaining balance is important to me, both personally and professionally. Outside of work, my greatest joy is spending time with my husband and our young son. We love exploring new places, trying new restaurants, traveling, and taking advantage of every opportunity to be outdoors. I also enjoy staying active with pickleball and believe that movement, time in nature, and meaningful connections with family and friends are all important parts of overall well-being.

As both a physician and a mom, I understand that healthy living isn't about perfection — it's about finding realistic, sustainable habits that fit into everyday life. That perspective helps shape not only how I care for myself, but also how I encourage members to approach their own health.
