Learn more about MyChart improvements in your kp.org account

As part of our ongoing efforts to deliver the best care and coverage experience for our members, we’ve enhanced how MyChart works in your kp.org account. You still have access to all the same tools online and in our app, but some features have a new look and can now be found in shortcut tiles as well as the top menu.

With MyChart, you can make fast, informed health decisions and get updates about your care. It’s a trusted platform that brings your health information together in one safe place.

What’s new?

  • Enjoy a redesigned online experience, including new and improved features that make it easier to manage your care and coverage — all in one convenient location.
  • View health information from multiple care providers, including medications, appointments, and test results, by linking your medical records.
  • Review personalized health notifications, like upcoming visit reminders and check-in tasks.
  • See benefit and claims information as well as important health plan documents in the enhanced billing and coverage center.
  • Save time during your visit with online check-in, which lets you check in for your appointment and complete pre-visit questionnaires and tasks before you arrive.

And remember — it’s easier to manage your care on the go with the Kaiser Permanente app. To download, just search for “Kaiser Permanente” wherever you get your apps, then sign in with your kp.org account details. Don’t have an account yet? You can create one in the app or at kp.org/register

MyChart makes manage your care easier. When you sign in to your kp.org account, you’ll see personalized health notifications and reminders. They include important information about your care, like:

  • Messages from your care team
  • Upcoming visits
  • Most lab test results

Since MyChart is already built into kp.org and the Kaiser Permanente app, there’s no need for you to create a separate MyChart account.

If you haven’t already, you can view a short demo of your new kp.org experience online.

You can message your Kaiser Permanente doctor, view past conversations, and more on kp.org and in the Kaiser Permanente app.

You have a few ways to message your doctor:

  • On kp.org: From the home page, click Send a message under Get care. Or click Appointments & Care in the top menu. Under Messaging, select Send a message.
  • In the Kaiser Permanente app: Use the Care Team Messages shortcut on the home page or use the menu at the top left of the screen.
  1. Go to the message center using the menu at the top left of the screen.
  2.  Select Message Your Care Team, then answer the prompts to choose the topic that best matches your question and the care team member you want to contact.
  3. Review the categories or subject areas for your message — like getting online care, scheduling an appointment, or requesting records — and choose the type of message you want to send.
  4. Select the specific member of your care team you’d like to message.
  5. Enter the subject line and your message, then tap Send.

Yes. You can use the new Link My Accounts feature to link medical records from other health care providers that use MyChart. Then you’ll be able to view non–Kaiser Permanente lab results, immunizations, prescriptions, allergies, health conditions, and other medical records in your kp.org account.

This helps make it easy for you to view all your health information in one place. It’s especially helpful if you're new to Kaiser Permanente, get care while traveling, act for a family member, or often get care at non–Kaiser Permanente facilities.

Linking providers in MyChart is simple. After you sign in, your health updates should include a list of places where you received care recently. To link a provider, simply click on a specific health update.

If you prefer, you can also go to the menu and select Link my accounts under Sharing to see a list of the providers you’ve visited. Click the Link account button next to the provider you’d like to add, and then answer a verification question to finish linking them.

Yes. If you’re a proxy, you can link accounts. A proxy acts as a representative for another person and has the authority to perform actions on their behalf. However, you can only see information you already have permission to view from the other provider.

Yes. In the Sharing Hub, you can find the right tools to get and share the health record information you need. This includes medical record requests, download options, and digital sharing permissions like Share Everywhere.

The Share Everywhere feature lets you give secure, one-time access to your health record to non–Kaiser Permanente clinicians and caregivers. This can include doctors, dentists, school nurses, or family — even if they don’t have a MyChart account. The feature also lets them send notes back to your Kaiser Permanente care team.

Yes. Your health information is always secure and private on kp.org and in our app. Kaiser Permanente has worked with MyChart for over 10 years to help our members safely manage their health online.
