Preventive Dental Services

Preventive Dental Services through Delta Dental

We cover certain preventive dental care through Delta Dental of California and its DeltaCare® USA Dental HMO program. Some basic preventive, diagnostic, and periodontal services are covered such as two oral exams and cleanings per year.

Extras to meet your needs

Over-the-Counter (OTC) Health and Wellness Products

 Get OTC health and wellness products delivered to your home. You can use your quarterly benefit to order:

  • Vitamins and minerals
  • Allergy, cough, and cold remedies
  • Antacids, laxatives, and stomach aids
  • Pain relievers and fever reducers
  • First aid kits, joint supports, and incontinence products
  • Blood pressure monitors and thermometers
  • Diabetic supplies such as compression stockings and sharps containers

Vision benefits

We cover routine eye exams (eye refraction exams) to determine your needs for vision correction and to provide a prescription for eyeglass lenses or contact lenses.

We cover prescription eyeglasses and contact lenses once every 24 months. Your supplemental benefits include an allowance to use toward the purchase of eyewear from a plan optical facility, such as Vision Essentials by Kaiser Permanente. A prescription is required.

Your allowance can be used to pay for the following items:

  • Eyeglass lenses when a network provider puts lenses into a frame.
  • Eyeglass frames when a network provider puts two lenses (at least one of which must have refractive value) into the frame.
  • Contact lenses, fitting, and dispensing.

This benefit allowance may also be increased if you are enrolled in Advantage Plus. Hearing aid benefits

We cover the evaluation and fitting for hearing aids, visits to verify that your hearing aid conforms to your prescription, and visits for hearing aid adjustments and cleaning at no cost. This benefit includes an allowance per hearing aid, per ear once every 36 months, depending on your plan type to use toward a hearing aid purchase from a network audiology provider. Post-discharge home-delivered meals

We cover meals delivered to your home immediately following discharge from a network hospital as an inpatient due to a principal diagnosis of congestive heart failure to support your recovery.

The benefit provides two meals per day for a 4-week period immediately following an inpatient hospital discharge for CHF, once per calendar year.
