We assist members and customers with questions about payments, medical bills, refunds, and any insurance related issue.

We bill all non-Kaiser Permanente plans for our patients including, but not limited to: Medicare, Medi-Cal, Third Party Liability (TPL), HMO commercial insurance, Workers Compensation, and secondary insurance companies. We coordinate benefits whenever patients have additional insurance coverage.

Most Kaiser Permanente members have a co-payment and are not billed for detailed services. This greatly simplifies your paperwork and payment.

If you or one of your family are covered by more than one health plan, you could be paying too much for your medical care.

By coordinating benefits for medical care and services through Coordination of Benefits, health plans can provide quality care for their members without paying for services twice. And it helps you because the entire cost of covered services, including deductibles and copayments, is often covered by the participating health plans.

Building a relationship with a Primary Care Physician is an important part of your health care experience. We connect all members to their own primary care provider and welcome new and returning members.

Our Member Outreach Specialists are ready to assist you.

• Choose or change your personal physician at any time. You can also do this online and view our physicians
• Register for a kp.org account and download the My Doctor Online app. Both give you access to email your providers, see most lab tests, refill most prescriptions for home delivery, and book non-urgent appointments
• Move out of the Pediatrics department when you turn 18
• Transfer prescriptions from outside providers
• New member orientation

Member Services provides benefit and health plan information and forms. The representatives can assist with complaints, concerns, and compliments.

Our private shuttles are driven by our trained and courteous Security Officers. Gratuities are not accepted.

Kaiser Permanente Redwood City and San Mateo offer many volunteer opportunities. If you can spare just 4 hours a week and commit to the program for 6 months, we invite you to apply. We offer both student (in some locations) and adult volunteer opportunities. You don’t need to be a Kaiser Permanente member to be a volunteer.
