Kaiser Permanente provider
My gender: Male
I'm accepting new patients.
I was born and raised in Honolulu, Hawaii and am a proud graduate of Saint Louis High School. My family was very influential in my decision to pursue a medical career: In addition to my parents’ encouragement and support, I have a long family line of doctors, including my grandfather who was a physician in Korea. I also discovered early on in my life that I love to help others and be of service to my community, so a career in medicine was the perfect profession for me.
I decided to specialize in internal medicine because it gives me the opportunity to develop strong, long-term relationships with my patients and provide them with more personalized care. My patients are my highest priority and I strive to care for every one of them as a whole, with compassion and professionalism. Spending time with my patients is always enjoyable and it is wonderful to get to know them on a personal level. I often see patients in person but make myself available through other means, including email and phone, as needed. As part of the Hawaii Permanente Medical Group, I value the strong collegial relationships between the physicians and medical staff and the highly coordinated care we can provide to our patients. I am inspired by the Hawaii Permanente Medical Group’s innovation and appreciate the opportunities to expand my career beyond patient care. For example, as a “techie” at heart, I enjoy being a member of our physician team that supports our excellent electronic medical records system. I am also a member of the American College of Physicians.
I stay active by walking, running, golfing and doing yard work. I love spending time with my wife and two beautiful daughters and enjoy traveling. I also volunteer with youth programs at our community church.
