Critical Care Medicine
Kaiser Permanente provider
My gender: Male
Hospital-based provider. Not available for routine appointments.
I grew up in the Los Angeles area of Southern California. Over the years I’ve been fortunate to have numerous friends in Hawaii whom I’ve enjoyed visiting. In 2004 my wife and I decided to relocate here permanently, and we have felt very much at home in Honolulu.
During my first 10 years in Hawaii I worked in the critical care units at the Queens Medical Center, Kuakini Medical Center, and Straub Clinic and Hospital. I also have been teaching students and residents as a clinical professor at the University of Hawaii, John A. Burns School of Medicine. After moving to Hawaii, I met numerous members of the Hawaii Permanente Medical Group (HPMG) whom I liked and respected. This made me feel that HPMG would be a good fit for me. To remain current in critical care, pulmonary medicine, and in medicine generally, I attend conferences and read professional journals and the online medical resource, UpToDate. I try to always be thorough and thoughtful in my approach to medical care, keeping in mind what patients ultimately want to achieve through their treatment.
In my leisure time I enjoy playing tennis with my wife and friends. I also spend time surfing, reading, and playing with our 70-pound affectionate dog.
