Parwathi V. Paniker, MD
I speak: English
My gender: Female
Where I practice
I was born in India and raised in Tennessee and Arizona. I was drawn to Hawaii for the climate, the natural beauty, and the chance to work for the Hawaii Permanente Medical Group (HPMG), having transferred from the Northwest Permanente Medical Group. I live here with my husband, along with my dog Ursi (aka Criminal). My mother is a physician, and I loved science as a child. Growing up and going to medical school in Arizona exposed me to a great deal of skin cancer cases. This field within dermatology remains my clinical interest today.
About my practice
Joining HPMG has allowed me to practice medicine in an area of significant need in the most beautiful setting. I want to treat every patient as though he or she is a family member. I welcome hearing my patients' incredible life experiences and stories, especially those who have lived through World War II, the Depression, and other difficult times in history. I enjoy researching clinical cases as they come up in my practice, and have co-authored case studies for the American Journal of Medicine, where I serve as the dermatology editor.I am board certified in dermatology and a fellow of the American College of Mohs Surgery.
How I thrive
I try to exercise for at least an hour a day, and owe my peace of mind to my husband. In my free time, I enjoy hiking, bicycling, reading, and spending time with my dog.
