Where I practice
I was born and raised in Manhattan and graduated from the Bronx High School of Science. I earned my PA degree from St. John's University in New York and became certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants.
While visiting friends on Oahu, I fell in love with the aloha spirit, the perfect weather, and the lush, green landscape. When I returned to the mainland, I felt as if I’d left my heart here, and I knew that I had to return as soon as an opportunity arose. When a position became available, I couldn’t have been happier!
About my practice
My cousin introduced me to the role of the PA when she was a medical student at New York University, and I’m so grateful that she did. I’ve found this profession to be incredibly rewarding both personally and professionally.
Medicine is a challenging, ever-changing field, and it’s important to stay on top of the latest discoveries, recommendations, and guidelines to deliver the best care possible. To keep up with current medical research, I read several professional journals, use the online resource UpToDate, attend conferences, participate in continuing medical education programs, and consult with colleagues. My membership in the Hawaii Academy of Physician Assistants also gives me access to the latest developments in my field and in general medicine.
Among the many wonderful things about working with Hawaii Permanente Medical Group are the teamwork among providers and staff, the collegiality, and the ability I have to spend time talking story with and focusing on my patients.
Serving others with love and compassion is of the utmost importance to me. I try to understand my patients’ needs and concerns and treat everyone as I’d want my own family members to be treated.
How I thrive
To stay healthy and fit, I work out at the gym regularly, hike the island’s beautiful mountains, do fast walking in my neighborhood, swim, and enjoy various beach activities. In my spare time away from the clinic, I like to enjoy Hawaii’s great restaurants, cook delicious meals at home for family and friends, and read good books.
