Where I practice
I was born in Yokosuka, Japan and raised in California. I completed the majority of my medical education and training in Connecticut and worked in Kathmandu, Nepal for one-and-a-half years. I decided to move to Hawaii because of its great cultural diversity and tropical climate.
About my practice
As a family physician who is also board-certified in hospice and palliative medicine, I have an interest in working with vulnerable and underserved populations. My current practice is limited to patients who are in long-term care facilities or who are homebound due to their medical problems. I also help with palliative care consultations for patients who have life-limiting medical conditions.I have additional training and expertise in travel and tropical medicine and I am involved with Hawaii Permanente Medical Group (HPMG)’s travel medicine service, which provides counseling to travelers to developing countries. It is an honor for me to work with HPMG’s highly-qualified, compassionate and conscientious physicians and medical staff. They continually help me provide the best care possible. I am also proud to consider many of my colleagues as friends.
How I thrive
In my free time, I enjoy traveling, which rejuvenates me and enhances my appreciation of living in Hawaii. Listening to music also helps me relax.
