About me
I was born in Ukraine and grew up in the state of Washington. I earned my bachelor's degree at the University of Washington, studied medicine at the Arizona College of Osteopathic Medicine, did my internship and residency at the Health Point/The Wright Center for Graduate Medical Education, and became certified in family medicine.
My wonderful wife has been by my side since college, providing encouragement and support every step of the way. Additionally, my two daughters bring joy to my life and remind me of the importance of my work. They inspire me to strive for a better future for them and those around us.
We were attracted to the spirit of aloha among the people in Hawaii and are genuinely grateful for our warm welcome upon our arrival.
About my practice
I was always drawn to the practical sciences, such as biology and chemistry. My decision to become a doctor developed from the medical care I received for several health problems I dealt with growing up. With the medical professionals who worked with me, I saw their dedication to improving lives and was motivated to do the same within the Slavic community. I actively worked to overcome the mistrust that this population sometimes feels for modern medicine, educating people about heart disease prevention and encouraging them to take the initiative in obtaining care.
I chose my specialty because of its comprehensive and holistic approach, from pediatric to geriatric care, and the opportunity it provides to have relationships with individuals and families over time.
I was part of a study at Seattle Children's Hospital that diagnosed a rare infection called Lemierre's Syndrome, and I've contributed to discussions on the use of proven treatments for substance abuse. I'm also interested in acute care, lifestyle medicine, public health, and international medicine.
How I thrive
I relieve stress, maintain mental clarity, and strive for inner peace by meditating, playing the piano, cycling, running, and playing volleyball, tennis, and ping-pong. Spending quality time with my family and being active in my church creates meaningful connections and enhances my sense of purpose. I thrive on personal growth and challenge, and my intellectual curiosity has led me to the fascinating study of particle physics and astrophysics. Lastly, I enjoy discovering various culinary traditions.

Accommodations for Individuals with Disabilities
Kaiser Permanente is committed to providing accessible facilities, services, and programs for all members, visitors and individuals with disabilities. In compliance with federal and state laws that prohibit discrimination based on disability, Kaiser Permanente provides:
- accessible exam rooms and medical equipment;
- free auxiliary aids and services to ensure effective communication with individuals with hearing, vision, cognitive, and/or communication-related disabilities, including qualified sign language interpreter services and informational materials in alternative formats (large print, audio tape/CDs, accessible PDFs or Microsoft Word documents, electronic texts/disks/CD-ROMS, and Braille); and

Kaiser Permanente uses the same quality, member experience, or cost-related measures to select practitioners and facilities in Marketplace Silver-tier plans as it does for all other Kaiser Foundation Health Plan (KFHP) products and lines of business and uses the same geographic distribution consideration to select hospitals in Marketplace plans as it does for all other Kaiser Foundation Health Plan (KFHP) products and lines of business. The measures may include, but are not limited to, HEDIS/CAHPS performance, member/patient complaints, patient safety scores, hospital quality measures, and geographic need. Members enrolled in KFHP Marketplace plans have access to all professional, institutional and ancillary health care providers who participate in KFHP plans' contracted provider network, in accordance with the terms of the members' KFHP plan of coverage. All Kaiser Permanente Medical Group physicians and network physicians are subject to the same quality review processes and certifications.
A narrow network is defined as a tailored, tiered or high-performance network that has 80 percent or less overlap with a health plan’s broadest network offered to a member in any type of plan offered by that health plan. Kaiser Permanente does not have a narrow network with respect to its Marketplace plans. Members enrolled in Kaiser Foundation Health Plan (KFHP) Marketplace plans have access to the same provider networks as members enrolled in all other KFHP plans.
