Where I practice
I was born and raised in the state of Connecticut. I have always had a passion for science and a love for helping people, so a career in medicine was a natural progression for me. I live in beautiful upcountry Maui with my wife and two young children.
About my practice
I decided to specialize in obstetrics and gynecology medicine because I love caring for women throughout the different stages of their lives, and enjoy playing a role in the health and development of their families. Regardless of how many babies I have delivered, I still feel profoundly moved at each birth I attend. Welcoming a new life into the world is a truly magical experience. My philosophy of care is to go beyond the problem or disease itself and take care of the person to the best of my ability. I strive to treat my patients as I would treat my own family members – with great care, compassion, and respect. I enjoy many of my interactions with patients, but meeting the entire family is one of my favorite experiences. It really makes me feel like a part of their family, playing an important role in each member’s health and well-being. The Hawaii Permanente Medical Group provides me with colleagues who are some of the most talented and dedicated members of the medical profession here in Hawaii. I have several special interests including family planning, menopause, high-risk pregnancy, and minimally invasive gynecological surgery, which I am able to fulfill working with Kaiser Permanente. I have also been a member of the American Association of Gynecologic Laparoscopists and am a board certified Fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists.
How I thrive
The majority of my free time is spent being “Daddy.” I love spending time with my family. Keeping active is important to me and I exercise by jogging, hiking, and swimming in the ocean. I also play the ukulele as well as the guitar, and enjoy gardening.
