About this program
At Kaiser Permanente, your privacy is important to us therefore we are using the Microsoft Teams-based video platform. This app allows us to interact with our members in a group while maintaining the requisite privacy you expect us to operate within. You can participate in the meeting either on your smartphone, tablet, laptop, or desktop computer.
If you’re using a smartphone or tablet, you must download the app ahead of time.
You do not need to create a Microsoft Live account; you can join the meeting as a guest to view presentations. Note: The chat function is disabled in guest mode.
- Open the App Store (iPhone) or the Google Play Store (Android) from your smartphone or tablet and download the Microsoft Teams app.
- Fully charge your device and be in a place with excellent wi-fi or cell phone reception.

The relationship between food, eating, and cooking to personal health and wellness has been well studied. Eating high-quality meals can help prevent and treat disease and restore well-being. This class is for you if you want to treat and prevent chronic disease with healthier eating habits by cooking delicious and healthy recipes.
Objectives:
- Understand the importance of cooking and health
- Learn skills to prepare plant-based meals
- Increase the daily number of vegetable servings
- Increase the number of meals planned, prepped, and cooked at home
- Learn to identify resources to expand recipe collection
Recommended for members who have a:
- BMI of 30 or higher or,
- Hemoglobin A1C of 5.7 or higher or,
- Diagnosis of Hypertension or,
- Diagnosis of Hyperlipidemia or Dyslipidemia
