About me
I was born in a very small town in Taiwan, where I was exposed to doctor and patient care at an early age. My father, who was the only general practitioner in that area, had great influence on me to pursue medicine as my future career. At age 15, my family moved from Taiwan to Argentina, where I started medical school at Buenos Aires University. After I finished my medical education, I came to the United States for my pediatrics residency training, followed by my pediatric nephrology fellowship. My husband who is also a pediatrician, is specialized in pediatric endocrinology. Together, we have an adult son who brings us much joy.
About my practice
I enjoy being a pediatrician and consider it a privilege for parents to trust in my expertise to take care of their little ones. After I finished my residency and fellowship, I worked as an assistant professor in the university. My duties included seeing patients at inpatient and outpatient settings, teaching medical students and residents, and doing research. My main interest in research was immunosuppressive monitoring following kidney transplants.
Before joining Kaiser Permanente, I worked as a general pediatrician in private practice and was also a hospitalist at Scottish Rite Hospital. I am confident in managing complex patients and also welcome the challenges. I am hard working and dedicated to my patients, always striving to provide the best medical care. I work well as a team member and we have a very efficient and strong support staff in the Kaiser Permanente Pediatrics Department.
How I thrive
Each day, I start with a prayer to set my goal: "Today you will make a difference in children's lives." I also follow the main principle for medicine, "Do no harm." I am proud of my multicultural background and international training as they provide me with important insight and the ability to be culturally sensitive, while understanding my patient's ailments and needs.
I enjoy cooking and traveling in my spare time. I am also multilingual as I speak Spanish and in several Chinese dialects: Mandarin, Taiwanese and Hakka.

Kaiser Permanente uses the same quality, member experience, or cost-related measures to select providers and facilities in Marketplace Silver-tier plans as it does for all other Kaiser Foundation Health Plan (KFHP) products and lines of business. The measures may include, but are not limited to, HEDIS/CAHPS performance, member/patient complaints, patient safety scores, hospital quality measures, and geographic need. Members enrolled in KFHP Marketplace plans have access to all professional, institutional and ancillary health care providers who participate in KFHP plans' contracted provider network, in accordance with the terms of the members' KFHP plan of coverage. All Kaiser Permanente Medical Group physicians and network physicians are subject to the same quality review processes and certifications.
Kaiser Permanente uses the same geographic distribution consideration to select hospitals in Marketplace plans as it does for all other Kaiser Foundation Health Plan (KFHP) products and lines of business.
