About me
I was born and raised in Shaker Heights, Ohio - a suburb of Cleveland. I am the proud son of two public school teachers, and the first in my family to become a doctor. I was taught to seek excellence in everything that I do, and I exhibit this value in how I deal with my patients. I am fortunate to have a family who is supportive of my endeavors and have instilled in me the virtues of patience, caring and forbearance. My journey into medicine began by being recruited to play tennis on a college scholarship. During my sophomore year, I entered an early-selection program which guaranteed me a place in medical school after graduation. Growing up, being a doctor is the only dream I had ever had. It was my rotation in the intensive care unit as a resident that sparked my interest in pulmonary and critical care medicine.
About my practice
Working in the Kaiser Permanente Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine Department, I am able to experience the most interesting parts of both worlds. I get to see patients in a clinical setting, where I am able to focus on all aspects of respiratory diseases; I then see patients in a hospital setting, where I am able to use my experience to treat patients who are gravely ill in the intensive care unit. This unique situation allows me to gain more breadth, as well as depth of knowledge. I try to encourage a shared learning experience with our members. I take the time to listen to each patient's problem and develop a plan that we both agree upon that allows the patient to take an active role in their treatment. I feel it is important for the patient to understand their disease process, as well as what it means for their everyday quality of life.
How I thrive
Exercise is very important to me, and I do my best to stay as active as possible. Whether it be through going to the gym or playing tennis, I am always looking for a way to work out. I find that this is the best way for me to relieve stress and clear my mind. I also enjoy dining out. The way I discover a city is by eating my way through it (hence the working out!). I enjoy live music and theater, as well as traveling abroad. I have always been very civic-minded, so even though I am new to the area, I plan on being an integral part of the community. Whether it is through donation of time or effort, I plan to promote healthy living within the greater Atlanta area.

Kaiser Permanente uses the same quality, member experience, or cost-related measures to select providers and facilities in Marketplace Silver-tier plans as it does for all other Kaiser Foundation Health Plan (KFHP) products and lines of business. The measures may include, but are not limited to, HEDIS/CAHPS performance, member/patient complaints, patient safety scores, hospital quality measures, and geographic need. Members enrolled in KFHP Marketplace plans have access to all professional, institutional and ancillary health care providers who participate in KFHP plans' contracted provider network, in accordance with the terms of the members' KFHP plan of coverage. All Kaiser Permanente Medical Group physicians and network physicians are subject to the same quality review processes and certifications.
Kaiser Permanente uses the same geographic distribution consideration to select hospitals in Marketplace plans as it does for all other Kaiser Foundation Health Plan (KFHP) products and lines of business.
