About me
I am from a small town about an hour north of Chicago. I am one of four children from first generation Jamaican immigrants. I am very close to my family. I am grounded, and I believe I get my integrity, hard-working spirit and truth from my parents.
What led me to conventional medicine was having an experience with my elementary school nurse. She was so kind and her touch so warm that I felt better in her presence. I remember thinking, "I want to make people feel this way and help others too. I want to be a nurse!"
After nursing school, I had an incredible opportunity to work at a world-renowned hospital in Minnesota. I spent many years in the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU). It was there that my fascination for the dynamics and physiological responses of a woman and her unborn child led me to becoming a certified nurse midwife (CNM). It is here that I have had the greatest impact on women's health care and I am loving every minute of it.
About my practice
As one of the Kaiser Permanente certified nurse midwives (CNM), I provide both gynecological and obstetric care in the office and I am credentialed to "catch your baby" at our Kaiser Permanente affiliated hospitals. More specifically, I provide care throughout the lifespan of a woman: family planning, pregnancy, childbirth, postpartum, sexual and reproductive health, and menopause. My professional organization, American College of Nurse Midwives, motto is: "With women, for a lifetime." I stand by this statement. I am passionate about access to care, empowerment, women's rights and commending their achievements. Being able to care for women is both an honor and a pleasure. I recognize that the moments I spend with women in my office or while delivering babies are intimate, tender and often life changing for us both. I look forward to meeting you!
How I thrive
I am a wife and mother of two. I thrive from the health and happiness of my family. I love to visit small quaint towns, beautiful beaches and old churches. I also love reading historical fiction, standing in my flower garden, and I am a burger connoisseur! When people meet me for the first time, I am often told all about my warm spirit.

Kaiser Permanente uses the same quality, member experience, or cost-related measures to select providers and facilities in Marketplace Silver-tier plans as it does for all other Kaiser Foundation Health Plan (KFHP) products and lines of business. The measures may include, but are not limited to, HEDIS/CAHPS performance, member/patient complaints, patient safety scores, hospital quality measures, and geographic need. Members enrolled in KFHP Marketplace plans have access to all professional, institutional and ancillary health care providers who participate in KFHP plans' contracted provider network, in accordance with the terms of the members' KFHP plan of coverage. All Kaiser Permanente Medical Group physicians and network physicians are subject to the same quality review processes and certifications.
Kaiser Permanente uses the same geographic distribution consideration to select hospitals in Marketplace plans as it does for all other Kaiser Foundation Health Plan (KFHP) products and lines of business.
Information about a provider is provided to us by the provider or the provider's network, or is obtained as part of the credentialing process.
