About me

I was born and raised in Ghana, a beautiful country on the west coast of Africa, to a family which greatly valued integrity, education, and a strong work ethic. Everyone sought the best for the other because we all understood that we will go farther together than we ever could individually. I moved to the U.S. in my late teenage years in pursuit of higher education. The journey has not been easy, but equipped with the support of my family, my faith, and values of integrity and strong work ethic, I completed my undergraduate, medical, and orthopedic residency training. I went on to complete my adult reconstruction fellowship at the Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville, Fla. to specialize in hip and knee conditions.

My fascination with orthopedics in particular, and medicine in general, began after observing a hip replacement surgery while shadowing a surgeon as a college sophomore. The new lease on life, patient satisfaction, and ultimately, significant improvement in quality of life, are some of the reasons I chose, and enjoy this career.

About my practice

Honesty, collaboration, and freedom are three words that describe how I run my clinical practice. I prioritize shared decision making, inclusive of the patient, family, and primary care team, in deciding the best course of treatment for our members.

My primary focus being non-operative options in relieving hip and knee symptoms, and considering surgery only after exhausting all conservative modalities. Surgically, I specialize in anterior and posterior approaches to hip replacement, total and partial knee replacement with robotic assistance when indicated, revision hip and knee replacement, and avascular necrosis of the hip and knee. My aim is to work together with my patients and family to achieve the best possible outcomes. As someone fascinated by motion, my goal is to get patients freely moving again.

How I thrive

Outside of work, I love to travel and discover new places with my wife. I also enjoy playing and watching soccer, working out, and playing the piano. Other interests include going on walks, watching comedy, and trying out new restaurants, particularly of the seafood variety.

Kaiser Permanente uses the same quality, member experience, or cost-related measures to select providers and facilities in Marketplace Silver-tier plans as it does for all other Kaiser Foundation Health Plan (KFHP) products and lines of business. The measures may include, but are not limited to, HEDIS/CAHPS performance, member/patient complaints, patient safety scores, hospital quality measures, and geographic need. Members enrolled in KFHP Marketplace plans have access to all professional, institutional and ancillary health care providers who participate in KFHP plans' contracted provider network, in accordance with the terms of the members' KFHP plan of coverage. All Kaiser Permanente Medical Group physicians and network physicians are subject to the same quality review processes and certifications.

Kaiser Permanente uses the same geographic distribution consideration to select hospitals in Marketplace plans as it does for all other Kaiser Foundation Health Plan (KFHP) products and lines of business.

Information about a provider is provided to us by the provider or the provider's network, or is obtained as part of the credentialing process.
