About me

I am originally from Savannah, Ga., and I have lived in the Southeast most of my life. My journey towards medicine was likely born from an appreciation of nature and a lifelong desire to understand how things work. While my studies trend toward a focus on the human mind and body, I find great joy in observing the interactions between individuals, cultures and the various systems within which we find ourselves operating. Life's journey has provided me with a wealth of experiences, and has ultimately led me to Kaiser Permanente, where I aim to employ the knowledge and skills I have acquired in helping others live healthier, more productive lives.

About my practice

I am an adult and child psychiatrist in the Behavioral Health Department. Working with both of these groups allows me to maintain a balanced view of the challenges that we face throughout the life cycle. My approach is to identify people's goals, build on their strengths, and combine the two with the aim of achieving the desired outcome. Though the process is sometimes challenging, I believe the rewards make the journey worthwhile. Working with children and adolescents creates opportunities to help other family members grow in ways that foster better environments for their children to learn and develop in. At Kaiser Permanente, I am supported by a dedicated team that genuinely cares about the people we come in contact with.

How I thrive

A young man once said, "Life moves pretty fast. If you don't stop and look around once in a while, you might miss it." I am at my best when I am able to pursue my many interests outside of medicine. I really enjoy history and will spend hours reading about people, places and events from long ago. Having young children helps me remain active, and I am frequently involved in activities such as T-ball and camping, which are a great escape. In the remaining time in my schedule, I enjoy movies, sports and spending time with family and friends. I try to work smart and play hard.

The information in this online directory is updated periodically. The availability of physicians, hospitals, providers, and services may change. Before receiving care at a facility, select that location in our directory and verify the accepted plan types under "About this facility" to make sure it is available in your plan. If no plan types are listed, the facility is available for all plan types.

Kaiser Permanente uses the same quality, member experience, or cost-related measures to select practitioners and facilities in Marketplace Silver-tier plans as it does for all other Kaiser Foundation Health Plan (KFHP) products and lines of business. The measures may include, but are not limited to, HEDIS/CAHPS performance, member/patient complaints, patient safety scores, hospital quality measures, and geographic need. Members enrolled in KFHP Marketplace plans have access to all professional, institutional and ancillary health care providers who participate in KFHP plans' contracted provider network, in accordance with the terms of the members' KFHP plan of coverage. All Kaiser Permanente Medical Group physicians and network physicians are subject to the same quality review processes and certifications.

Kaiser Permanente uses the same geographic distribution consideration to select hospitals in Marketplace plans as it does for all other Kaiser Foundation Health Plan (KFHP) products and lines of business.

Information about a practitioner is provided to us by the practitioner or the practitioner's network, or is obtained as part of the credentialing process. Board certification may not reflect contracted services available from practitioners listed in our directory. If you have questions regarding this or about any of our practitioners, call us at 1-800-611-1811 (toll free). For the hearing and speech impaired: 1-888-865-5813 or 711 (TTY).
