About me
I am a native Atlantan, one of nine children. I have always been considered the "mother hen." Growing up, I gravitated toward the older members of my family. They just seemed to have so much wisdom and warmth. My husband of over 30 years continues to encourage and inspire me to be a better person just by his own actions and attitude. He still makes me laugh every single day! We also have two incredible children. They, along with my lovely niece, give my life meaning.
I consider it a privilege and an honor to work in health care. I completed my education at Georgia State University. I have worked as a health care professional for over 20 years. My experience as an advanced practice nurse has been in occupational health, minor acute care, adult medicine and geriatrics. The years spent in geriatrics have by far brought the greatest fulfillment to my work.
About my practice
I chose to become a family nurse practitioner because I enjoy working with and caring for others. Throughout my years of practice, I have developed a passion for the middle aged to older adult. I strive to keep the patient first. I feel my role is to empower the patient to be an active participant in their health care. I believe that education, open discussion of options and resources will lead to prevention and improved outcomes. I am grateful to be a member of a team that shares my vision for improving the lives of our members.
How I thrive
I begin each day with devotion and exercise. I try each day to keep a positive attitude and to express gratitude for my blessings. I enjoy yoga, running and cycling. I participate in short charity runs around town. I thrive by spending time with family and friends. We enjoy food and entertaining, and our home is often the gathering place. I also enjoy reading, the arts, travel and baking.

Kaiser Permanente uses the same quality, member experience, or cost-related measures to select providers and facilities in Marketplace Silver-tier plans as it does for all other Kaiser Foundation Health Plan (KFHP) products and lines of business. The measures may include, but are not limited to, HEDIS/CAHPS performance, member/patient complaints, patient safety scores, hospital quality measures, and geographic need. Members enrolled in KFHP Marketplace plans have access to all professional, institutional and ancillary health care providers who participate in KFHP plans' contracted provider network, in accordance with the terms of the members' KFHP plan of coverage. All Kaiser Permanente Medical Group physicians and network physicians are subject to the same quality review processes and certifications.
Kaiser Permanente uses the same geographic distribution consideration to select hospitals in Marketplace plans as it does for all other Kaiser Foundation Health Plan (KFHP) products and lines of business.
