Hi! My name is Zahra Ajani. Welcome to my Web page. I'm so pleased to have this opportunity to introduce myself to you. I am a neurologist specializing in stroke and cerebrovascular diseases. I have been caring for individuals with cerebrovascular vascular diseases and strokes as well as performing research for last 13 years.
I grew up in India, and after finishing medical school in India, I moved to United States. I did my neurology training at State University of New York (SUNY) Downstate in Brooklyn. I completed my fellowship at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston. In 2007, I joined Kaiser Permanente. I enjoy practicing medicine. I have been combining my skills to develop systems of care and improve quality of care for all people with strokes and cerebrovascular disease. I believe in medicine based on evidence and current research, which helps me deliver good outcomes for members and caregivers. Kaiser Permanente has allowed me to work on process improvement for our care delivery system. I have been working as a stroke program Medical Director to develop systems of care and improve quality of stroke care. I look forward to helping you receive high-quality care.
About my practice
I currently spend the majority of my time in the hospital. My practice is very diverse, and I see members with acute neurological illnesses. We offer state-of-the-art and advanced stroke treatments like delivering clot buster medicine to members who are eligible in shortest time. Our stroke team performs Thrombectomy (removal of a clot from a blocked brain blood vessel), coil aneurysm, aneurysm clipping, angioplasty, and carotid endarterectomy. We emphasize quality of care and best outcomes for the people we care for. My practice is devoted to keeping members healthy and disability free.
How I thrive
I love my family. When I am not working, I enjoy spending time with my husband and twins. I love nature, and I enjoy camping and cooking. To maintain my own wellness, I love to run, do Pilates, and go for a hike.
