About me

Hi! My name is Dr. Zacary Schwarzkopf, and I am thrilled to be a part of the team and family at Kaiser Permanente’s West Los Angeles Medical Center. My goal is to treat each and every member I see in the same way that I would care for a member of my family.

Biography

I was born in Los Angeles, in Beverlywood a few blocks from Kaiser Permanente’s West LA Medical Center. I grew up in Southern California and went to UC Santa Barbara for undergraduate, majoring in aquatic biology and participating in marine research while an undergraduate. I attended Medical College of Wisconsin in Milwaukee, and after graduating I moved to Philadelphia to complete my emergency medicine residency at Hahnemann University Hospital. But Los Angeles was always home for me, and I moved back in 2018 to continue my career after graduating residency.

About my practice

My training is in emergency medicine, and after residency I worked primarily in the Emergency Department with some work in urgent care. After a few years, I quickly found myself thriving in urgent care, and realized that I attained my greatest satisfaction keeping people out of the Emergency Department. People want to avoid long waits in crammed emergency departments, but far too often it is difficult to find adequate alternatives. The resources and support network available at West Los Angeles Urgent Care allow me and my colleagues to remedy this care gap.

How I thrive

I am an ardent proponent of work-life balance and personal wellness. Those who propose to take care of others must be able to care for themselves equally as well. I have a wonderful wife and 2 young children who are my entire world. Watching them grow every day is greatest joy of my life. I love to travel with my family — we have already been to Mexico and Canada together, and we look forward to exploring the rest of the world. I am a lifelong Los Angeles sports enthusiast, and I will never miss an opportunity to cheer on my Dodgers, Bruins, Lakers, or Rams.
