Where I practice
Welcome to my Web page. I am currently the physician in charge at Baldwin Park Family Medicine Offices located in the Baldwin Park Medical Center. I’m actively involved in the Kaiser Permanente Asian Pacific American Network, which performs community service in our Asian communities in Southern California. I also work with physician groups that champion the needs of patients, and we are heavily involved in the health care reform process for California and the nation.
I was raised in a small rural town in Taiwan and grew up in Southern California. I earned my bachelor's degree in biology from the University of Miami and my medical degree from Keck School of Medicine of USC (and am still a fan of Trojan football). I completed a family medicine residency at Kaiser Permanente's Woodland Hills Medical Center. I am board certified by the American Board of Family Medicine and hold the American Academy of Family Physicians degree of Fellow, an earned degree awarded to family physicians for distinguished service and continuing medical education. I have been honored to receive many awards and accolades, including the Physician of the Year award and the Service Extraordinaire Award by Kaiser Permanente's Baldwin Park Medical Center in 2011. I was also honored with the Physician Exceptional Contribution Award for 2013.
About my practice
I work with many excellent family physicians and specialists as well as a team that includes a pharmacist, a diabetes case manager, a nurse practitioner, and a physician assistant. We all strive to bring high-quality, preventive health care to members. We want to help them stay healthy so they can focus on what is important to them and their families.
How I thrive
I believe that we can all make a change to live better and healthier. As an old Chinese proverb states: "A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step ". I have helped many of my patients become healthier by focusing on making small changes in their lives, such as quitting smoking, getting active and fit, losing weight, and eating healthier foods.
