About me

Welcome to my Web page. My name is Dr. Won Seok Cha, though in the clinic, you’re welcome to call me Dr. Cha. I was born in Illinois, spent most of my childhood in Korea, and later moved to Texas, where I finished high school, college, and medical school. Each place I’ve lived has shaped me in a unique way, and together they’ve helped me appreciate people’s stories, cultures, and perspectives. I’m grateful you’re here, and I look forward to getting to know what matters most to you and your health.

Biography

I chose to pursue medicine because caring for others felt like the most meaningful way to use my skills and experiences. From the beginning, I knew I wanted a career grounded in trust, connection, and service — one where I could support people through important moments in their lives. I’ve lived in different parts of the world and have been fortunate to travel even more. Those experiences taught me to approach every patient with openness and respect for their individual background. This perspective guides me every day and is a big part of why I value the relationships I build in my work. I’m grateful for the path that led me here and for the privilege of caring for members and their families.

About my practice

I chose family medicine because it allows me to care for people at every age and stage of life. I love getting to know members over time — learning their stories, celebrating their milestones, and being there for both small questions and big decisions. What means the most to me is building lasting relationships and supporting entire families through generations. At Kaiser Permanente, I appreciate the teamwork and care that help us focus on what truly matters: supporting you with compassion, clarity, and recommendations that are based on evidence and current research. My goal is to create a space where you feel understood, comfortable, and confident in the care you receive. I look forward to partnering with you as we work together toward your health goals.

How I thrive

I’m at my best when I maintain a healthy balance between work, wellness, and the things I love. Traveling and exploring new cultures from time to time keep me curious and open-minded while doing CrossFit on a regular basis helps me stay strong both physically and mentally. These routines allow me to manage stress and show up fully for members. I find fulfillment in making a positive difference in people’s lives, and I’m currently working on improving my medical Spanish so I can better connect with Spanish-speaking members. Ensuring every member feels heard, respected, and supported is incredibly important to me.
